The classic trek to khumbu offers a great opportunity to view eyecatching sceneries, amazing rocks, scenic lakes and many other wonders of mother nature.
We begin our journey with a scenic drive on the Kathmandu highway and a walking tour through secluded and one of the most beautiful parts fo Nepal. We trek through the rowaling valley.
The main features of Khumbu are the great peaks, with their glaciers,icefalls and snowfields. After crossing the Tashi Lapcha pass (5755m) we reach Thame, Tenzin Norgay’s hometown and then enter the Khumbu valley- the land of the Sherpas.
Day 01: Arrive to Kathmandu:
Our company representative will pick up you from international airport and you will be transferred to hotel in Kathmandu (1300 meter)
Day 02: City tour.
Our city guide will take you to historical places around Kathmandu valley which is also listed on world heritage sites by UNESCO.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla and commence trek to Phakding (2,620m/8,594ft)
This day, you will fly to (Lukla 2840 m) with our guide. It’s the gateway of Mt. Everest, The trek begins from here and the group will step ahead toward Phakding (2610 meter) a Sherpa village following the base camp trail.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,420m/11,218ft)
The trek of second day will start after breakfast and the group will have lunch on the way. On this day the group will enter into Sagarmatha National Park. After 6-7 hours walking you will reach at Namche which is the world famous rural market having many facilities.
Â Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (3,420m/11,218ft)
As it is above 3000 meters from sea level in alpine environment, people take rest for acclimatization which helps to fit us with high altitude environment.
Day 06: Trek to Dole (4084m)
Walking few minutes upward from Namche the trail heads toward Kyanjima. From there the way follow the left trail slope upward toward Mong La hill and then down toward the river bank Portse Thanga from there the trail ascend up to Dole.
Day 07: Trek to Machhermo (4410m)
It’s a small village at the bottom of Machhermo peak, which can be reached after upward slop walking through rhododendron and some other alpine trees. During walking, we can see some frozen ice falls in the cliff.
Day 08: Rest day in Machhermo:
We stop one day here to be further familiar with alpine environment and acclimatize our body, which prevent us from possible high altitude sickness. This area is above tree line. During day time there is also an option of visiting around Machhermo base camp as per interest.
Day 09: Trek to Gokyo -4750m
The easy trail Heading toward north from Machhermo leads us to Gokyo . It’s a wetland of Sagarmatha National park having some lakes around and Mt. Cho you in the back ground, which is one of the main destination of the trip.
Day 10: Ascent of Gokyo Ri -5483m
Gokyo -Ri is a hill above the valley and is the highest place of our trip which can be reached after 3-4 hours slop upward walking. It is the fantastic spot for viewing the top of Mt. Everest and some other famous mountains.
Day 11: Trek to Tragnag -4690m
Following the rocky and bumpy trail having slight up and down, we can reach to Thangnak. There are very few lodges in the yard of Khumbu Himalaya which has made the trip easier. It is in the distance of around 5 hours.
Day 12: Across Cho La 5420 m. to Lobuche -4928m
Cho La is one of the pass of Everest region which can be cross heading upward at the beginning and then slightly slope downwards long walking. View of the outstanding great Himalayan range can be seen while walking along this trail.
Day 13: Trek to Gorak Shep
It is in distance of 4 hours walking through rocky trail .here around We can see only snow ice and glaciers and mountains instead of trees. (5,147m/16,882ft)
Day 14: Trek to Kala Pattar (5,550m/18,204ft)
This Kala Pathar is a hill having higher elevation than Everest base camp, which is slope upwards from Ghorakhshep and takes almost four hours to be at the top and 2 hours to get back to Ghorakhshep, which is the best spot to view the summit of Mt. Everest World highest point.
Day 15: Trek to Everest Base Camp -5357m & return to Ghorak Shep,
This place can be reached after 3 hours walking through the rocky trail having slight up and down and as well as ice blocks and tiny ice lakes , where Everest expedition group set their base camps for their Mt. Everest climbing project. After visiting base camp we will return to Ghorakhshep.
Day 16: Trek to Pangboche -3985m
This is the way to walk back same way up to Labuche and then still down. The place comes after Pheriche, which is in front of big peaked mountain Amadablam where we can see the himalayan thar grazing in the field with domestic cattles.
Day 17: Trek to Namche-3450m
It takes almost 8 hours of walking to get back to Namche. We enter into tree line area and follow the rhododendron forest toward the famous Tengboche monastery. Some time beautiful musk deer also can be seen during walking time. Then we will step forward to the Namche leaving the famous mountain in the backwards.
Day 18: Trek to Lukla (2840 m):
This is the last day of walking after 3 hours of walking you will exit from the national park and further 3 hours of walking you will finally get to Lukla.
Return To Kathamandu
Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu:
This morning the guide will take you back to Kathmandu by flight and you will be checked in into hotel and will have rest and refreshment. This evening we all will have farewell dinner.
Day 20: Departure:
This day our representative will come to hotel and take you to airport for final departure on your time with wishing you very happy journey.
