Trip Overview

Kaligandaki trek is one of easy treks. A little experience of walking and good physical condition is enough for this trek. This trek covers view of the summits in the Annapurnas and other massives. The trail passes through different ethnic villages, forests, cultivated land. This trek holds charming during the trek. Mountain covers Their faces in red shawl of rhododendron flowers in March April. Trek continue till the pilgrim Muktinath and fly back from Jomsom.

Program Itineary

Tour days

Day 01: Arrive to Kathmandu (1300m)
Our company representative will pick up you from international airport and you will be transferred to hotel in Kathmandu (1300 meter)

Day 02: City tour
Our city guide will take you to historical places around Kathmandu valley which is also listed on world heritage sites by UNESCO. In the evening you will be given general information about trekking regarding Do and Dons during trekking and daily routine / schedule of trekking will be given to you by our tour guide every day.

Trek days

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (800m)
Pokhara can be reached in 6-7 hours driving all the way through Prithivi highway by tourist bus or private Jeep from Kathmandu. Or we can take flight of 25 minutes from Kathmandu. During drive to Pokhara we can observe attractive landscape, rural village some of local lifestyles.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (1070m) and Trek to Tirkedhunga (1540 m)
After driving of two hours from Pokhara we get to the Birethanti, which is the entrance of Annapurna Conservation area and the start point of trek. We follow the local village trail besides Burumdi river to get to Tirkedhunga. It little further from Hile and in 4 hours average walking distance. During walk we can see terrace rice field and local village and people and their cultures.

Day 05: Tirkedhunga to Ghorepani (2775m)
After breakfast we start walking through stone steps upwards for around half and hour till Ulleri village and then the trail goes slowly upwards crossing Banthanthi village through the forest we can reach to Ghorepani after totally 6-7 hours walking. This day we can see Mt. Annapurna south (7219 m) and Hieunchuli (6441m).

Day 06: Walk to Poonhill and trek to Tatopani ( 1190 m)
Early in the morning before breakfast we climb up to a hill, a very good view point called Poonhill (3210 m), from where many world famous mountain range Dhaulagiri range and Annapurna range can be seen on rising sun light. From Poonhill we return to Ghorepani and start walk to the Tatopani following the trail down wards to North direction after breakfast .This is 6 hours walking mid from the field and village such as Chitre , Falante and Shikha. After Shika the trail goes steep downwards to the Kaligandaki river and then it straight to Tatopani where we take hot shower in natural hot spring.

Day 07: Tatopani to Ghasha (2010 m)
From here we walk forward on average walking, on the way we have chance to look world deepest George at Dana. This is the George made by Kaligandaki in between Mt. Dhaulagiri on The left and Mt. Annapurna on the Right. From here following old route we go ahead to Ghasha. Road transport is also available here to go to Jomsom, but most of people like to walk through. It’s because of the different and beautiful landscape.

Day 08: Ghasa to Larjung (2550m)
looking to waterfalls,Mountains, beautiful landscape we walk a head to Larjung crossing the village Dhaiku, Lete and Kalopani. At Kalopani there is safe drinking water station too. We can reach at Larjung on six hours, it is the view point of Dhaulagiri himal where we can visit to the temples and monastery too.

Day 09: Larjung to Jomsom (2710 m)
To get to we walk beside the Kaligandaki river which follows from upper part of mustang. The way to Jomsom is very easy and takes 6 hours approximately. Kobang, Chimang and Marpha are the villages we cross during walking to Jomsom.

Day 10: Jomsom to Kagbeni (2800 m)
Kagbeni is a village just below to the Muktinath. We can reach easily to Kagbeni from Jomsom following the trail parallel with the Kaligandaki river. It takes just three and half hours for the visitors where we can observe very typical houses and Gurung cultures.

Day 11: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800 m)
Muktinath is in the east direction from Kagbani which can be reached after slope upward slowly walking of around three hours. It is a holy place for both Bhuddist and Hindu pilgrims , where we can see one pagoda styled small temple and 108 water taps on its back and nonstop flaming light in side there.

Day 12: Muktinath to Jomsom (2720m)
we visit the temple in the morning and after breakfast we start walk gradual down ward up to Ekle Bhatti (2740 m) and then follow same trail which we had followed while going kagbeni. Within 3 hours we can easily get to Jomsom. We also can take a jeep ride to reach Jomsom.

Day 13: Fly back to Pokhara (800m)
This day we can fly to Pokhara from here in the morning crossing over the one of the good view point and the major tourist destination Poonhill (3210 m). During 25 minutes flight Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range can be seen.

Return to Kathmandu

Day 14: Return to Kathmandu (1300 m)
To return to Kathmandu by tourist bus, which departs 7 o’clock in the morning. And it takes around 6-7 hours to get to Kathmandu. We have two alternatives. Either we can take 30 minutes flight

Tour days

Day 15: Reserve day
This is the day for looking around city and also for buying something as per your interest. We will have farewell dinner all together in Kathmandu on this evening.

Day 16: Departure
This day we will come to hotel and take you to airport on your given time for the final departure to home with wishing you a nice journey.
